Here, my average-guy friends, is another good movie for ya! "Captain Phillips." It's my buddy J's and my $5 Tuesday Guys' Movie for this week.
I'm sure your remember the news story about four, four-and-a-half years ago where U.S. Navy Seals rescued the American sea captain who Somali pirates had kidnapped from his cargo ship off Africa. (You can google it if you want, but if you do before you see the movie, it may prove a spoiler for you. Myself, I would wait....) Tom Hanks plays Capt. Rich Phillips, and almost anything he does is entertaining.

After the first 10 minures or so, "Captain Phillips" is intense, and it doesn't let up until the credits roll. Suspenseful. In the immortal words of Chevy Chase in the old movie "Modern Times," "AYYYYYE LIKE it!"
Some fisticuffs, some gunfire, but no explosions, no language problems (unless you consider captioning for whatever the bad guys speak as a problem). I could be wrong, but I was paying pretty close attention and I didn't notice any car chases to speak of. Also, once again, no gratuitous sex; not even any grat sex. It's another point-scorer Guys' Movie, meaning you can take The Wife. It's exciting and enjoyable.
I give it 5 knuckle sandwiches and 2 Hitchcock silhouettes for suspense.
